Sanjay Dutt's Parole Extended By 14 Days
Sanjay Dutt's parole has been extended by 14 days once he wanted the extension of parole on medical grounds, TV reports aforementioned.
The 53-year-old Sanjay was granted parole from the Yerawada Central Jail on 1st october so he may avail medical treatment for his leg.
A parole may be a conditional unharness of a prisoner for a restricted amount for a selected purpose and is strictly governed under Indian jail laws.
"It doesn't imply commutation of the sentence or amnesty and is purely determined as per individual cases at the discretion of the concerned authorities," criminal lawyer J.P. Mishra.
Dutt is serving a 42-month sentence for the illegal possession of arms, in the metropolis serial bombings case of March 1993. He was condemned by a Special TADA Court for the same.
He has already served one-and-a-half years behind bars during trial. He came back to Mumbai's Arthur Road Central Jail could sixteen to serve the remaining forty two months in jail. Later, on security grounds, he was shifted to Yerawada Central Jail.
